Steve Spurrier Could be the Next Miami Hurricanes Coach

Not a lot of detail here, other than that sources tell CSTV that Steve Spurrier might leave South Carolina after only 2 years to become the next head coach of the Miami Hurricanes.

Spurrier's Gamecocks are 6-5 this year and 13-10 in his 2 years thus far. In his time at Florida, Spurrier compiled a remarkable 122-27-1 record in 12 years.

So if indeed The Ole Ball Coach does return to Florida, what is your reaction? I'm not in favor of anyone leaving 2 years into a 7-year contract, but if the rumors are true, it'll be very interesting to see him try to turn around Miami. I always got the feeling that while he could have success at South Carolina, he would be inhibited a bit just because the Gamecocks don't have as much of a football reputation, and Spurrier may not have any of his old pipelines. He'll have no such problems if he goes to Miami.

It's going to be real interesting to see how this plays out.

Spurrier nixed this one. They're talking about it over at ESPN.

He has since said it isn't true, but he could be lieing. Miami makes sense...he can still golf all the time in that warm weather. Can you say Doral?

A very logical destination, but I think he is happy at South Carolina. Its a 7 year deal, he already has plenty of money, its warm weather, its SEC, and he can golf. He'll be fine at USC.

Why leave the Gamecocks(who just agreed to a new 200 million dollar facility upgrade)to go to a run down Miami team.Sure, the talent flows in and out,but that place is a wreck...and the talent isnt what it used to be there.Spurrier will stay in the Real Conference...where all the real talent plays!!!

"Real talent" at South Carolina? LOL...keep dreaming. Miami would beat SC 98 out of 100 games. There is more talent in Miami's kicker than in the whole GameCOCK starting lineup. Spurrier is a moron is he stays in that dump of a town and dump of a football program.

Learn how to read.......the real talent is in the SEC. USC just spanked Clemson, just imagine what they would do to the BLOWHARDS. Why would any coach who thrives on challenges want to step down to the ACC. Even the Big East is ranked higher than them. Besides, Spurrier is fluent in Southerneese, not Spanish.

To say that the real talent is in the SEC, thats about as moronic a statement as I've heard in a while... If you want to talk about facts, look at the opening day roster of players in the nfl... what is the school with the most talent... Do this.... make a list of the most dominant NFL players and I guarantee you that just from the U you will have much better talent than the enbtire SEC conference... So before you spill out crap from your mind into an email first learn some facts buddy... And without multi million dollar facilities... The only reason no one would want to coach at UM is the simple fact that we are in a win now city.... Anything short of 10 wins a year is unacceptable
