6 In, 59 to Go.

On Saturday, Winthrop, Belmont and Murray State won their conference tournaments, earning themselves the automatic bid. Also, Penn won the Ivy League (which does not have a conference tournament) to give them the tourney bid.

On Sunday, two more teams advanced, as Southern Illinois beat Bradley 59-46 in the Missouri Valley championship, and Davidson beat UT-Chattanooga 80-55 in the Southern Conference championship.

The rest of the conference tourneys start sometime within the next 4 days (and look for my Major conference tournament preview coming later this week), which will again help narrow down the field.

Elsewhere, bubble teams rejoiced as Gonzaga held off San Diego 96-92 in the WCC Tourney. This is big because the Zags are in the NCAA Tourney regardless, so a loss by them would put another team from the WCC in, taking a bid away from another, probably more deserving team.
